ERIC COHEN JOINS DTS, INC. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CALABASAS, Calif., July 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions and audio enhancement technologies, today announced Eric Cohen was elected to its Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2016. He will also serve on the Compensation Committee.

Mr. Cohen brings years of experience in management positions spanning corporate development, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and investment banking. He is currently an independent consultant, advising media and technology clients on strategy, business model and capitalization issues. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of strategic planning and corporate development for Dolby Laboratories, Inc., where he was responsible for corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, investments, and corporate strategy. During his tenure he contributed significantly to several major strategic initiatives to drive growth, including Dolbys entry into voice communications and imaging technology markets. Mr. Cohen also served as the chairman of Via Licensing, an operating subsidiary of Dolby, which licenses third-party audio technologies across the consumer electronics space. Additionally, Mr. Cohen has served on the board of 7digital Group plc, a public company based in the United Kingdom, since 2012.

Prior to joining Dolby, Mr. Cohen held various positions in investment banking for nearly 30 years, where he gained diverse experience advising clients in strategic transactions and financings across a broad range of industries. Mr. Cohen served as managing director and as a senior member of the technology investment banking team at Cowen Group, where he also founded the Companys digital media practice in 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Cohen held positions as partner at Volpe Brown Whelan and managing director at J.P. Morgan.

Mr. Cohen holds a BS degree from Brown University and an MBA from Stanford University.

Mr. Cohens appointment as a Class III director is for an initial term extending until the 2018 annual meeting of stockholders.
