They're known to give you sugar-induced coma with just a few bites, but UK R&B star Craig David couldnt help but give South African delicacy the koesister (close relative of the koeksister) a try ahead of his show in Cape Town this week.

The crooner indulged in the syrup-soaked dessert during an interview with the radio station KFM.
On Thursday 8 December, Craig David will perform for one concert only at the Grand Arena in Cape Town.

CRAIG DAVID DIVES INTO LOCAL DESSERT In a clip posted on KFM's social media platforms, Craig David is given a koesister a sweet and spicy Cape Malay dessert to snack on.
Commenting that it felt weighted, the singer was told that the Mzansi-style doughnut is filled with syrup and spices.
Taking a bite, Craig quipped: It's got a lot of sugar I'm hyped already! .

Ultimately the star gave the delicacy the thumbs up, adding: It's very nice that, I really do like it.

SHOWING LOVE TO HIS LOCAL FANS On The Flash Drive, Craig David spoke about his fondness for his South African fans.
The feeling I get is that there is love here, and I appreciate it, he told hosts Carl Wastie and Zo Brown.
The singer last performed in South Africa in 2003.
