Next week, the Cantemo team will be heading to Las Vegas for NAB 2018! NAB is one of the biggest shows in our calendar so we have a number of exciting things planned and will be announcing several new features and integrations.
iconik & AI Last November, we officially launched iconik, our hybrid-cloud based platform for managing video. Being cloud-based, and in order to keep up with the requirements of our customers, we have implemented a continuous delivery approach to iconik updates, which means the platform is in constant development.
Having already supported image and video analysis using Google Cloud Video Intelligence, iconik is now able to use AWS Rekognition to automatically tag content with metadata upon ingestion. Integrating AI applications such as these into media management solutions not only increases the discoverability of content with little effort on the users part, but it also enables intuitive content suggestions based on previous search patterns. Well be demoing video intelligence for media management at booth SL5007.
Considering the rate at which content libraries are growing, AI is likely to become a necessity if we are to effectively manage them. Excitingly, our very own Mike Szumlinski, Manager North America, will be speaking about the subject of AI for video content management during a session at NAB. The session will take place on April 11th at 10:40 in room N256.
Hybrid-cloud We seem to be at somewhat of a crossroads in the industry right now, with many painting the cloud out to be somewhat of a fix-all solution. But on-premise still has an important role to play, and NAB will be an excellent opportunity to discuss the perks of hybrid-cloud, and many other current trends, with our friends, partners and customers.
In fact, another announcement to be made ahead of NAB is an integration panel between Adobe applications and iconik. Having already supported Adobe Premiere Pro CC, further integrations mean that our customers can continue to work on the applications they love (including Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Audition CC and Adobe Illustrator CC) whilst being able to access files in iconiks hybrid cloud repository, from anywhere in the world via a web browser. This panel integration will be demonstrated at our NAB booth (SL5007).
Another important update ahead of NAB is increased hybrid cloud workflow support. iconik Enterprise is now certified to run on several well-known third-party cloud services and integrate with a number of third-party applications including MatrixStore, the object storage platform from Object Matrix. The integration enables a hybrid cloud workflow, with iconik able to manage assets stored in the cloud and locally within MatrixStore.
Portal 3.4 Of course, our flagship media management solution Portal, hasnt been forgotten, so at NAB we will also be offering sneak-peek demonstrations of the yet-to-be-released version 3.4. The latest Portal update introduces timecode-based commenting, improving the efficiency of review and approve workflows by making it easier to see when and at what stage a user made a comment. Users will also be able to index and search for jobs via an enhanced jobs page.
Portal users managing diverse content with the same access rights will be happy to know that version 3.4 features single-instance metadata fields. This means they will be able to display one metadata field instance on several subgroups.
iconik Portal Synergy In Portal 3.3, we introduced the sync to iconik feature, making the relationship between our two solutions seamless and inherent. And this is just as well as there is a significant shift happening in the industry right now (just as we predicted might I add). While the larger enterprises are trying to solve more substantial media workflow issues, small to medium size teams are looking for easier, less technically disruptive ways to begin managing media.
With Cantemo Portal Enterprise and iconik sitting neatly into those respective sweet spots, these trends are something for us to get excited about. Our customers can take a combined, holistic approach to media management, using Portal for complex on-premise workflows, and pushing content to iconik when it needs to be shared, reviewed and distributed globally. At NAB, well be showcasing the synergy between the two.
As always, we are really looking forward to demoing our products and their newest updates at NAB. Get in touch with us to arrange a meeting or visit us at booth SL5007.
