
Healthcare advertising agency GSW tapped Hooligan Senior Editor Peter Mostert to edit the Type None campaign for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.
Mostert worked closely with GSW and production company COLLECTIVE, editing three promo films as well as a PSA that is currently airing on the Web and on donated TV airtime.
We wanted to cut an honest, inspiring piece based on our script, says GSW SVP/ Director of Integrated Production Jon Parkinson. We have a great rapport with Hooligan, collaborating on a number of campaigns through the years and, as always, Peter was a joy to work with.
Directed by David McNamara, the films capture the JDRF's spirit and progress behind the slogan: Together, we will create a world without type one diabetes.
The Vision PSA is an uplifting montage of the stronger than we look type : T1D survivors overcoming the odds to embrace the new challenges and experiences of a healthier life.
Walk is a montage representing the nearly one million strong who annually walk to cure T1D. The fundraiser has raised more than one billion dollars to date.

The Confrontation, a track from the feature film Beast of the Southern Wild (2012) provides the campaign's inspirational score, which Parkinson says helped elevate the emotion.
Its a bold track that sets the right mood and lets everything culminate around the coming-together theme embodied in the foundations work and mission, adds Mostert.
Production took place over the course of several days in the Woodstock area as well as New York City, with a cast of real people, many of whom are actual Type 1 patients.
Mostert attributes the smooth collaboration to his longtime working relationship with both McNamara and GSW, for which he has edited several media packages for a number of clients.
Weve all had a great working relationship for years, concludes Mostert. Jon brought in some great boards. I have done a lot of work with him as well as the creative team at GSW. Our relationship has always been based on trust and respect. It was also a wonderful collaboration with David, with whom Ive also done quite a bit of work. He imagined and captured some beautiful, thoughtful, real human moments for me to bring to life in the edit. We all had a nice collaborative flow until the final assemble was as good as it could be. Everyone put lots of time and effort into making something spectacular for a great organization and a good cause.
