Story Highlights
In the evening of Thursday, Aug. 7, the San Francisco 49ers invited season-ticket holders and members of the media to experience every aspect of Levi's Stadium's all-encompassing renovation. The exclusive event, dubbed Levi's Stadium Under the Lights presented by ANC, offered a tour of the new control room and a jaw-dropping presentation demonstrating the breadth of the venue's upgraded tech firepower.
Control-Room Conversations: Fans Learn About Game-Day Productions On Thursday, Aug. 7, the San Francisco 49ers hosted the exclusive Levi's Stadium Under the Lights presented by ANC event.
As fans arrived in the stadium's United Club, they were invited to take a closer look into what drives the fan experience at Levi's Stadium. Group by group, they filed in and out of the full 4K production-control room near the top of the building. Led by San Francisco 49ers Senior Director, Game Presentation and Live Events, Laura Johnson, and Chief Broadcast and AV Engineer Ted Slominski, the pair took attendees into the wide array of workflows that had been implemented since the last season's final regular-season home game vs. the Detroit Lions on Dec. 30, 2024.

49ers Team Reporter Briana Jeannel introduced the next portion of the proceedings, in which the crowd learned facts and figures about the technological layout and the work done during the offseason. Then, Jeannel turned the mic over to three key executives on the project: San Francisco 49ers President Al Guido and GM John Lynch and ANC SVP, Revenue, Jireh Billings.

Guido, a major supporter of the club's game-presentation department and a firm believer in cultivating one of the best game-day environments in the NFL, underscored the need for continued investment in the building: not only would it provide a more enjoyable experience for fans walking through its turnstiles, but it would make the stadium a more attractive destination for large-scale sports and entertainment events.
ANC's Jireh Billings outlines the partnerships that made this tech refresh possible.
The $200 million spent over the summer will maintain the high bar that we've set for our fan experience, he said, and will also bring big-time events here. We're privileged to be able to host a Super Bowl 10 years after hosting Super Bowl 50 as well as hosting six matches in the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup.

Next, Billings outlined how meaningful partnerships were one of the main reasons this project was so successful. From valued technology vendors in the control room and trusted manufacturers to the 49ers' willingness to innovate and take risks, it truly took a village to push the final product over the proverbial goal line. It's a huge testament to the organization to invest in a deployment of this significance in the NFL because not many teams are doing this, he said. This wouldn't have been possible without all of our various partners.
Attendees enjoyed a three-minute-long videoboard/light show from a section in the lower bowl.
Lastly, Lynch was joined by Jeannel to discuss the impact of 49ers fans in creating a one-of-a-kind home-field advantage. Through the assistance of cutting-edge technology, he believes, the fan's passion will make Levi's Stadium a formidable place to play: There needs to be something other teams know that when they come in here, it's going to be hard to hear, think, and function. We have all of these [additional] bells and whistles that will only make that better.
Dazzling Debut: Full-Scale Videoboard, Light Show Cap Memorable Night Thursday night's event was the official debut of the venue's two new videoboards.
After 15 minutes of conversation, attendees were prompted to exit the premium space and take a seat in Section 131 of the lower bowl. Spurred by a hype video compiled from content captured during the team's 2025 NFL Media Day running on the two largest 4K HDR videoboards in the league, new LED Sport Lighting and upgraded sound system near the top of the building, and a full stash of powerful pyrotechnics, fans cheered and chanted as if the team were about to take the field. A moment to celebrate for all involved at the 49ers or a chance to get excited for the upcoming 2025-26 NFL season, it was also an opportunity to applaud the club's tireless efforts over the past two to three years to turn what was once a dream into a full-fledged production powerhouse.
