Techtel and Harmonic team up for SMPTE 2013Sydney, June 28, 2013 Techtel and Harmonic in Australia will co-exhibit on Stand G35 at SMPTE 2013, further strengthening their partnership one year after the launch of Harmonic in Australia. Taking the largest floor space of all exhibitors at this years' show, the stand will be exceptionally well staffed by manufacturer specialists from around the globe who will showcase their breakthrough products and solutions and will be supported by local representation from both Techtel and Harmonic in Australia.

Techtel show highlights include Masstech's media asset solution, Emerald for News an innovation which received considerable recognition at NAB 2013, receiving the IABM NAB Game Changer Award, TV Technology STAR Award, and Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award. See the E.P.I.C. teleprompter from Autoscript, the world's first hybrid prompter and talent monitor, as well as the demonstration of a 4K transport solution from Net Insight, one of the topics to cause a buzz in the broadcast industry this year. Panasonic return to HDTV studio cameras with the release of their AK-HC3800 which will be making its Australian debut at the show. For the first time in Australia, Harmonic will show its new Ellipse 3000 Contribution Encoder featuring a flexible system architecture, bringing new levels of video quality and workflow efficiency to broadcast contribution applications. Other highlights include Harmonic's High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) demonstration, as well as solutions for multiscreen production and delivery workflows which boast increased scalability, efficiency and flexibility.

A number of Techtel partners will offer their insight into current industry themes during the SMPTE conference sessions. Having led the international MOS Protocol Group for more than ten years, Masstech's Mike Palmer, Vice President and General Manager for News will share his knowledge on exploiting drag and drop workflows across diverse systems and locations. Harmonic's Ian Trow, Senior Director Emerging Technology and Strategy will present his paper titled Delivering Quality Ultra High Definition' where he reevaluates the fundamental parameters key to real-time and file-based delivery of content. Danny Wilson, Pixelmetrix President & CEO will present his paper Keeping up with OTT: QoE/QoS Metrics for Over-The-Top Television', while another of our regulars, Etere's Fabio Gattari will discuss his unique approach to M.E.R.P. (Media Enterprise Resource Planning).

SMPTE 2013 will also mark the Australian launch of new Techtel partner slomo.tv, whose solutions for multi-channel recording, slow motion and instant replay generated considerable interest earlier this year at NAB Show.
