Telef nica I D celebrates 25 years as a leader in the field of research Desde su nacimiento en 1988, Telef nica I D es el segundo operador mundial en inversi n en investigaci n y desarrollo s lo superado por la japonesa NTT DoCoMo.
Telef nica I D, el motor de innovaci n del grupo Telef nica, ha cumplido 25 a os desde su creaci n en 1988. Un cuarto de siglo en el que la compa a se ha consolidado como un referente en el sector de la investigaci n y el desarrollo en Espa a y tambi n en el mbito internacional.
Telef nica ha celebrado el 25 aniversario de Telef nica I D en un acto institucional celebrado el pasado viernes en su sede de Madrid con la presencia del Pr ncipe de Asturias, adem s de autoridades como el ministro de Industria, Turismo y Comercio, Jos Manuel Soria, y la alcaldesa de la capital, Ana Botella, adem s del presidente de Telef nica, C sar Alierta, el consejero delegado del Telef nica, Jos Mar a lvarez-Pallete, y el CEO de Telef nica I D, Carlos Domingo.
El Pr ncipe de Asturias destac en su intervenci n que es un hecho que las empresas que mejor afrontan los efectos negativos de la crisis son las innovadoras, porque son m s competitivas y menos vulnerables. Hoy celebramos el 25 aniversario de una empresa que ha apostado por la innovaci n y que est compitiendo, desde Espa a, con los gigantes del sector .
Don Felipe realiz , al t rmino del acto institucional y acompa ado por la c pula directiva de Telef nica, un recorrido por varios stands en los que se presentaban algunos de los ltimos productos desarrolados en esta empresa, entre otros: el smartphone Firefox OS, TU Go (que se comercializa en Reino Unido), Thinking Things, Tox Box, Enriched radio y Virtualizaci n de redes.
Por su parte, C sar Alierta alent a Telef nica I D a continuar con su compromiso con la innovaci n y con una labor que empez hace 25 a os: En este tiempo, Telef nica I D ha sabido adaptarse a los profundos cambios del sector y de la sociedad en general, lo que le ha permitido consolidarse como uno de los motores de innovaci n . Su CEO, Carlos Domingo, record que la compa a encabeza, junto al CSIC, el ranking espa ol de solicitudes de patentes internacionales y es la mayor I D privada del estado espa ol. Adem s destac que la innovaci n es un camino que conduce a una sola direcci n, el futuro, y nuestro objetivo es inventarlo para beneficio del mayor n mero posible de personas. Telef nica I D ha sido el laboratorio del que han salido algunas de las m s exitosas ideas que luego se han convertido en productos y servicios comerciales de Movistar, en los que son, adem s, los 25 a os m s intensos en la historia de las telecomunicaciones en nuestro pa s.
Segundo operador en inversi n
En el mbito internacional, Telef nica I D es el segundo operador en inversi n en investigaci n y desarrollo s lo superado por la japonesa NTT DoCoMo. Adem s, es la compa a que m s participa en proyectos p blicos de I D en el Europa. Unos datos muy significativos que adem s no han decrecido ni en inversi n ni en n mero de proyectos a pesar de la complicada coyuntura actual. De hecho, Telef nica I D realiza el 9% del total de las inversiones de las empresas espa olas en I D y encabeza, junto a CSIC, el ranking espa ol de solicitudes de patentes internacionales.
Adem s, Telef nica I D ha sido pionera en la forma de innovar al incorporar en cada momento las tendencias m s punteras en este campo. En su creaci n se imit el modelo de referencia en aquellos momentos que eran los Bell Labs y para ello se eligi como primer director del centro a un alto cargo procedente del laboratorio americano. Posteriormente TID abri camino en la introducci n del concepto de innovaci n abierta. Y m s recientemente, la compa a vuelve a ser pionera en la aplicaci n a una gran empresa de los conceptos de innovaci n lean startup que se emplean en las peque as startups.
