Beverly Hills, Calif., January 10, 2017 -- Netflix, the worlds leading Internet TV network, is bringing its members an all-new stand-up special from one of the leading forces in entertainment and comedy today, Amy Schumer. The special, taped Saturday, November 5 at Denver, Colorado's Bellco Theater, will launch globally on Netflix Tuesday, March 7th, 2017.
As a comedian, actress, writer, director, producer and best-selling author, Amy Schumer is a boundless threat and a one-of-a-kind talent. We couldn't be more excited that she's making Netflix her home for her next stand-up comedy special, said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix.

Her groundbreaking Comedy Central sketch series, Inside Amy Schumer, where she serves as creator, star, writer, director and executive producer, premiered to critical acclaim in 2013 and has gone on to win the first-ever Outstanding Sketch Variety Series Emmy Award in 2015. Also among the show's numerous accolades and honors are the 2015 Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy/Variety Sketch Series, the 2015 Television Critics Association's Individual Achievement in Comedy and Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, the 2015 Critic's Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, and the prestigious Peabody Award in 2014.
Schumer took the film world by storm in 2015 with the international smash hit, Trainwreck. Penned by and starring the comedian, the box-office sensation garnered two Golden Globes nominations, including Best Actress, Comedy or Musical for Schumer and Best Picture, Comedy or Musical. She was also honored with the Critic's Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy and received a Writers' Guild Award nod for Original Screenplay. Additionally, the British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) in 2015 honored Schumer with The Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.
As a stand-up comic, Schumer continues to tour to sold-out crowds around the world. Most notably, she's sold out London's The O2 Arena and became the first female to sell out New York's iconic Madison Square Garden -- which she's now done twice. Her 2015 HBO comedy special, Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo, was directed by Chris Rock and earned three Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special and Outstanding Variety Special, as well as a Writers Guild Award nomination for Best Comedy/Variety Special.
Schumer -- whose debut book, The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo, was released in August 2016 and quickly topped The New York Times Best Sellers list, where it still enjoys a spot after 15 weeks -- is currently in production on 20th Century Fox's untitled mother-daughter adventure comedy feature opposite Goldie Hawn and can next be seen in the independent film Thank You for Your Service, an adaptation of the David Finkel book by the same name.
