Con esta pel cula, el actor irland s volver a trabajar con el director Jaume Collet-Serra con quien realiz xitos internacionales como Unknown, Non-stop and The Commuter. En este remake, Liam Neeson dar vida a un alto ejecutivo de Wall Street quien, de camino a su trabajo, descubre que hay una bomba instalada en su veh culo por lo que se ve obligado a seguir las rdenes de un desconocido'.
The unknown es la pera prima del director gallego Dani de la Torre y cont , en sus papeles principales, con Luis Tosar y Javier Guti rrez. El thriller se alz en la 30 edici n de los Premios Goya con la estatuilla al mejor montaje, para Jorge Coira, y al mejor sonido para David Machado, Jaime Fern ndez y Nacho Arenas; y obtuvo ocho nominaciones.
Asimismo, la pel cula particip en la 63 edici n del Festival de Cine de San Sebasti n y en el Festival de Venecia. Adem s, la cinta fue la nica pel cula seleccionada por la European Film Promotion para proyectarse ante distribuidores americanos.

La cinta, gracias a su presentaci n en el Festival de Venecia en 2015, ha sido vendida a m s de 50 pa ses. En oto o comenzar el rodaje de su adaptaci n americana, mientras que en marzo ya comenz en Berl n el remake alem n y pr ximamente se adaptar en Corea del Sur.
El remake alem n, Steig. Nicht. Aus!, est dirigido por Christian Alvart (responsable de t tulos como Pandorum o Expediente 39) y protagonizado por un amplio plantel de reputados actores alemanes como Wotan Wilke M hring, Christiane Paul, Hannah Herzsprung, Fahri Yardim, Mavie H rbiger o Aleksander Jovanovic.
