tv2u is unveiling its new real-time analytics service and content aggregation engine at IBC 2016. The company is also showcasing its Intelligent Video Accessible Network (IVAN) OTT platform, a full service white label OTT/IPTV delivery service that unifies the delivery of content straight to the playout device.

tv2u is shaping the OTT landscape by offering services that make it not just possible but feasible to deliver any content (video, audio and data) over any network (internet, television, radio, satellite broadcasters), to any device (phone, tablet, television, pc, laptop, gaming consoles), explains Nick Fitzgerald, director and CEO of tv2u. This means providers and consumers of all categories (such as free-to-air, cable, online, corporates and individuals) can maximise the quality of delivery, regardless of their current network capacity or device.

A key objective of the IVAN platform is to offer customers the advantage of tapping into powerful real-time analytics, which are gathered from multiple sources including the delivery platform, player applications, and social media. The analytics generate detailed insights about users such as their demographics, location (with the ability to pinpoint their postal code) and viewing habits including their content consumption patterns, details on which devices they use, and their likes and dislikes.

Fitzgerald adds, Using this information, providers have a deeper understanding of their customers viewing habits and can therefore make their ads more personalised and targeted. This is far more effective than standard ads because every single viewer can potentially receive a different ad - depending on their social media activity, browsing history and previous spending preferences. This creates a deeper level of brand loyalty among consumers.

Unique to IVAN is its real-time analytics engine, which lets content owners and advertisers know to what extent customers are engaging with their material. This means that content providers and operators can make better business decisions and in turn, drive up their profits.
