Verizon Business Group is accelerating innovation in the sports production-distribution industry. VBG is helping customers keep pace in a rapidly changing environment by providing the tools and technologies that enable them to transform the way they operate, deliver core services, protect intellectual property, keep fans and audiences engaged, and enhance end-user experiences. Last month in Tampa Bay, the company played a pivotal role in the 5G experience at Super Bowl LV.
This year, Verizon elevated the fan experience with immersive fan first' experiences that showcased the power of 5G, making it much more personal to them, says Brian Mecum, VP, Device Technology.
At crowded sporting events, reliable cellular connectivity can be a difficult thing to achieve. With the help of Verizon's sure-fire solutions, the company bolstered the cellular network via 5G for enhanced use of mobile ordering and merchandise purchasing. This accomplishment is building towards a more connected future when full crowds eventually return to the venue.
We've invested in 5G enhancements that make sure fans can access merch and concessions with less contact and avoid overcrowding, so when we're ready to return to the stadium, fans will enjoy an improved customer experience, adds Mecum.
Verizon Business Group is not only immersed in professional sports, but collegiate athletics as well. Prior to this year's March Madness, the company was heavily involved in the Big East Men's Basketball Tournament at Madison Square Garden. As digital opportunities become even more prevalent for live sporting events, Fox Sports recruited Verizon's 5G services for low-latency delivery of the tournament's live streamed options.
Through SVG's community of both professional leagues, teams, networks and collegiate programs, Verizon is poised to develop stronger working relationships and technological partnerships.
