Durban Gen actress Lihle Dhlomo - who plays the character of Dr Precious has exited the e.tv telenovela.

Dhlomo surprised viewers of the medical drama when she announced her exit on her social media channels.

I'm grateful and content because I got to work with some of the best directors - Mthunzi Dubazane - Sabelo Ndlovu - Zimkhitha Maseko and Zuko Nodada and the script supervisor - Sihle.

She posted on her social media:

RIP Dr P. Thank you to @stainedglasstv1 and @durbangen_etv - who cast me for the role of the beloved - Dr Precious Dlamini.

This character was crafted through collaboration from concept to script - directing - creative and technical teams in the show. Thanks, especially to the production team for making my journey amazing.

PLAYING DR PRECIOUS DLAMINI IN THE ETV TELENOVELA Dhlomo's character Dr Precious Dlamini was married to a womaniser - Dr Thabo Dlamini played by Durban Gen director and actor - Meshack Mavuso- Magabane.

She'd just sorted out her life and returned to the telenovela after her husband's affair.

Dr Precious and her husband were working things out and planning to co-parent when she got into a fatal car accident.

The actress also thanked the actors she worked with on the medical drama.

To the actors, I had the pleasure of working with on the show I learned a lot from you. Guys, love and light. To the acting coach and co-star - thank you sir for being a great sparring partner on set - Sibalhkulu @mavuso101.

Dhlomo also thanked the viewers for their support and has encouraged them to continue watching the popular telenovela.

I love and appreciate the support you give me. My heart sank when I read this last scene as DR P. I gave everything, every time for every take. I don't have regrets.
