The EUMSSI project gets the highest rating for excellence of the European Commission in its last year Esta iniciativa, en la que VSN participa directamente como uno de los fundadores, busca crear una plataforma multimodal avanzada e integrada para enriquecer toda informaci n creada por los periodistas en entornos de noticias y contextualizarla con metadatos extra dos autom ticamente de diversas fuentes online, tales como redes sociales o archivos de noticias.
The project Understanding through Multimodal Social Stream Interpretation (EUMSSI), que tiene por objetivo crear una tecnolog a revolucionaria para facilitar el trabajo de los medios de comunicaci n y mejorar la cobertura de cualquier tema o noticia en el entorno de los medios en comunicaci n, ha recibido en su tercer a o de desarrollo la m xima calificaci n otorgada por la Comisi n Europea en lo que a su progreso, evoluci n y prototipo de aplicaciones se refiere.
M s concretamente, la instituci n europea subraya que el proyecto ha conseguido alcanzar todos los hitos y objetivos principales establecidos en el proyecto sin desviaci n alguna, as como crear fruto de este trabajo una plataforma integrada perfectamente funcional que tambi n ha incluido en su desarrollo todas las recomendaciones que le fueron realizadas durante la evaluaci n del segundo a o de desarrollo.
Esta iniciativa, en la que VSN participa directamente como uno de los fundadores del proyecto, permite a los periodistas buscar, explorar y extraer informaci n til para los art culos en que est n trabajando, gracias a la obtenci n de contenido adicional que se extrae directamente de diversas fuentes online y que se presenta de manera autom tica y sincronizada. De esta forma, y seg n la valoraci n del proyecto presentado por la Comisi n Europea, se cree que esta herramienta puede generar un gran inter s potencial y tener unas buenas perspectivas de explotaci n comercial en el futuro.
En particular, el papel de VSN dentro del proyecto ha sido tambi n subrayado por el desarrollo del caso de uso period stico y la integraci n de los m dulos de an lisis de texto dentro del proyecto. Un trabajo que podr a obtener resultados mucho mejores que los que se esperaban al inicio de este proyecto.
Recibir una calificaci n tan excelente de la Comisi n Europea y por segundo a o consecutivo es verdaderamente un honor. Estamos hablando de una instituci n que exige la m xima calidad posible en todos los proyectos que eval a y financia. Por tanto, recibir una valoraci n tan positiva es la mejor prueba que podemos obtener para saber que estamos en el camino correcto y que estamos ayudando a crear una tecnolog a revolucionaria para que los medios de comunicaci n pueda desarrollar y enriquecer su cobertura de noticias y eventos de manera sencilla , ha destacado Ra l Mar n, Ingeniero de Software senior en VSN.
EUMSSI es un proyecto que pertenece al s ptimo programa marco de la Uni n Europea para investigaci n y desarrollo tecnol gico y que recientemente ha completado su tercer y ltimo a o de desarrollo. VSN ha participado en este proyecto mano a mano con algunas instituciones clave europeas en el mbito de la investigaci n, tales como la Universidad Leibniz de Hannover (Alemania), la Universidad Pompeu Fabra (Espa a), la Universit du Maine (Francia), el IDIAP Research Institute (Suiza), Deutsche Welle (Alemania) y GFAI (Alemania).
