Cost-effective connectivity; advanced environmental governance
Dot Group will showcase its unique approach to faster data transfers at IBC2023 (15 18 September, RAI Amsterdam, stand 5.A62). It will demonstrate DataSprint, its solution for broadcast facilities and media supply chains, powered by IBM Aspera.
IBM Aspera is widely recognised as the industry gold standard for the fastest, most secure media file transfers, and Dot Group is a leading European reseller of the option. Recognising the need for a fully integrated, predictable and cost-effective solution, Dot Group developed DataSprint, which wraps IBM Aspera into a one-stop package.
Within the contracted bandwidth, DataSprint provides unlimited transfers, users and workspaces at a fixed and affordable price. This gives production companies and post houses budget certainty: data transfers are fixed costs, with high speed, reliable and secure connections available when needed. DataSprint includes an intuitive user interface, and the necessary APIs to be integrated into larger automated workflows.
DataSprint is a key service in modern media supply chains with flexible deployment in local, remote, multisite and cloud environments. Recent major customers for DataSprint include Molinare, which exchanges very large files between its facilities around the world; audio specialist Pip Studios which pulls media from Hollywood and other production centres for mixing in London; and FooEngine which uses DataSprint to upload direct to AWS S3 storage as a fast lane for data management.
