Tedial, the leading independent MAM technology solutions specialist has announced that a trio of Spanish customers have upgraded their existing Tedial MAM solutions to the latest version of the company's award-winning Evolution MAM for media workflow orchestration. A highly scalable and future-proof Enterprise MAM, Evolution has continued to evolve to meet new technological challenges. The upgrade provides customers with improved security and allows users to access the system remotely with an intuitive and efficient HTML5 web application, a growing requirement for today's business operation models that now must rely on remote working and use a hybrid cloud solution.
The three Spanish customers who all upgraded in 2020 include the state-owned public broadcaster RTVE, the public television station of Barcelona (BTV) betev ', and the Andalusia Audiovisual Council (CAA), an organization that ensures that Spanish TV channels perform their obligations by law and in accordance with their license conditions.
Julian Fernandez-Campon, CTO Tedial says, We are really happy to have been able to assist these customers in what was a difficult year for everyone. Evolution is a highly sophisticated and efficient media and content management solution that dispatches tasks to resources and automates all operations from ingest to distribution, such as QC, subtitles, audio management, images, edition, versioning, localization and more. He adds Over the years, we have built a true partner relationship with these customers and we are proud that they continue to trust Tedial by implementing these upgrades.
Betev , one of Tedial's first MAM customers, successfully upgraded from its original Tarsys MAM, installed in 2003, to the latest Evolution version to accommodate its move from SD to HD, its migration to web platforms, and to have the ability to integrate with social media networks. The upgrade of the public broadcaster system uses a virtualized infrastructure, with a web UI for remote operations. A redesign of the workflows has been completed giving more flexibility and scalability. The project also included LTO4 content migration to LTO8, and MAM integration with the NRCS (iNews), proprietary traffic system (XMI TVR Manager), and the Avid Interplay production system, improving productivity for the end users and improving efficiency of the production storage consumption of the different work teams.
Vicen Oller, Systems Manager, says, Tedial has understood us and responded to our needs perfectly, building a true partnership over the years; we have contributed to build a very solid archiving tool. Evolution has enabled us to seamlessly transition to new formats, adopt new web tools, gain agility and increase the efficiency of daily production. We are excited to finish the LTO migration so that we can enjoy the true potential of the new system.
Andalusia Audiovisual Council (CAA), a Tedial customer since 2008, relies on its MAM as the core of its monitoring, recording, logging and archive system. The multi-site MAM has a main central node located in Sevilla and 20 remote sites across Andalusia. CAA has now successfully upgraded its Tedial Tarsys3 version to Evolution with more than 9 million hours of archived content. Mr. Felipe Rodr guez, Contents Manager explains, Tedial's MAM system is key to our operation. Upgrading to Evolution supports greater productivity in logging tasks and makes remote working possible, a must today. Additionally, the configuration and system are self-managed, allowing easy adaptation to our operational needs.
RTVE has also successfully upgraded its 10-year-old Tedial Tarsys3 MAM, central to its TVE Documentary Archive, to Evolution as part of a major project led by Telef nica. The multi-site feature of the new MAM has enabled a major architectural shift from three independent systems to a single centralized system in RTVE's headquarters in Madrid with a new Disaster Recovery site in Barcelona. The feature also allows operations with high-resolution materials to be executed locally, while users have access to a centralized low-resolution database. The project includes integration with Marquis, Vantage, Aurora, Diva and Filenet.
According to RTVE's Audiovisual Engineering system department, upgrading to Evolution facilitated a smooth operation and supported the delivery of the optimized workflows that address RTVE's changing requirements following the Historical Archive Digitization project. Today RTVE have a more powerful and more flexible system, with a higher degree of monitoring, but with the same quality of service, provided by Tedial.
Tedial Evolution provides operators with a number of key benefits including, reduced time to market; use of a set of standard workflows building blocks to configure content preparation; a highly scalable media-oriented BPM engine; flexible content delivery services based on IMF; full IMF support; visibility including configurable dashboards and reporting tools; and bi-directional integration with business tools for content requests and notifications.
