The end-to-end solution leverages Cache-A's renowned LTO-4, 5, and 6 archive appliances and axle Video's highly-regarded media management software and appliances. Details of the integration will be presented at IBC 2013, Hall7, at the Cache-A (7.A04) and axle (7.D07) stands.
The new, browser-based axle Video/Cache-A solution automatically catalogs and tracks media content over its lifecycle. Content can be quickly annotated with customizable metadata fields, then archived to, and quickly retrieved from, a network-attached Cache-A LTO-tape appliance, with a storage capacity in the hundreds of Terabytes. The solution leverages Cache-A's industry-leading support for LTFS LTO storage together with axle's user-friendly front-end interface. It is notable for its simplicity of installation, ease-of-use, and compatibility with NAS/SAN storage and operating systems.
Integrating with axle Video's media asset management software is a natural fit for Cache-A, said Mark Ostlund, VP Sales and Marketing for Cache-A. Axle's affordable digital tools have opened up media asset management for a number of content creators and the integration of Cache-A now provides a complete management and protection solution.
