From Exfoliation to Explosion: Did a Beautician Murder Her Husband?

A quiet little hill station by the river has been rocked by a deadly blast at a local engineers residence. The police believe it to be a murder, with the newly-wed victims wife, Rani Kashyap, their prime suspect. While the wife is an aspiring beautician, the victim [Rishu], was pursuing an MBA, a degree still considered prestigious in this town. Before this murder, the worst thing this town had ever witnessed was a player sneaking in two extra cards in a game of Rummy. But the blast has left everyone shaken. The town is witnessing a sudden explosion of chai time gossip, leading to a historic shortage of tea leaves. The neighbourhood is mourning the death of this young engineer, and are reminded of the loss each time their fans and coolers stop working and he doesn't show up to fix them - that too free of cost. While some speculate the wife was having an affair, others believe she may have been a serial killer. Constable Rastogi claims that he overheard Rani Kashyap say that true love is incomplete without a splatter of blood. What this implies for this case and why he chose to share this one single detail with us remains a mystery.

The news of the blast that killed the engineer has sent shockwaves as far as Mumbai. Several filmmakers seem keen to adapt this intriguing story to the screens. A film crew led by renowned director Vinil Mathew has already been spotted doing a recce of the area. While the project seems to be in a nascent stage, Vinil is calling the movie Haseen Dillruba, allegedly inspired by the claims that Rani Kashyap [victim's wife] charmed both Rishabh Saxena aka Rishu [victim] and her alleged lover. This growing interest from Mumbai has only increased the pressure on the police investigation, and they seem to be doubling down on the wife as their prime suspect. It still remains to be seen where the inspection will head, who will turn out to be the real killer and whether #TheUltimateKaunspiracy will become Netflix's next murder mystery.
