Grass Valley Presents End-to-End Live Production Solutions at Broadcast & Cable 2013

San Francisco, Calif., August 12, 2013 Grass Valley will be presenting its latest advancements in live production, news and playout solutions at Broadcast & Cable 2013 (20 22 August, S o Paulo, Brazil). On display at the Grass Valley booth (D3/D4) will be the LDX Series of software upgradeable cameras, the XCU eXchangeable Control Unit, the Karrera Video Production Center with K-Frame , the K2 Edge and K2 Dyno Replay System. The award-winning GV Director Nonlinear Live Production System and the newly released EDIUS 7 Video Editing Software will also be introduced to the Brazilian market at this years show.

At the show, Grass Valley will launch GV Director to the Brazilian market for the first time. GV Director integrates video switching, multi-layer effects, animated graphics and multiviewer monitoring into a single, intuitive and highly creative system. Also making its debut in the region is Grass Valleys EDIUS 7, the latest version of its video editing application. EDIUS 7 not only supports memory-intensive 4K editing and the newest file formats, but it also opens software up to third-party input and output hardware support, making it the most advanced editing solution to date.

Other Grass Valley products being demoed at the show include:

The LDX Series of cameras and the XCU base stations. With upgradeable software, the four models of LDX camera Flex, Premi re, Elite and WorldCam allow users to enhance functionality as and when they need to. When the cameras are combined with the XCU base station, optimum operational flexibility is created. The XCUs unique cradle enables easy maneuverability across all production environments, including OB vans and studios.

The software-based Karrera Video Production Center with K-Frame is a smart and easy-to-learn solution that configures full 3G 1080p50/60 HD support. With an intuitive control panel and touchscreen interface, the switchers simplicity makes it the ideal solution for beginners and freelance operators.

The K2 Edge media server, available in three levels of capabilities, combines all the necessary functions of integrated playout- media playout, channel graphics, and asset management into one, integrated system. A robust and purpose-built solution, K2 Edge offers mission critical playout applications 24/7.

A dynamic replay controller, K2 Dyno is an easy and cost-effective way to give viewers highlights and replays of live events. The highly-intuitive touchscreen interface provides great performance without the costly hardware and software add-ons.

Ed Casaccia, Senior Director, News Product Line at Grass Valley, will deliver a presentation during the show titled Big Data and Cloud Computing discussing the advancements of big data and cloud computing in the world of Broadcast. The paper will feature professionals with extensive experience in solutions that manage the flow of media, data and the new engineering challenges and technology trends.
