Sky and Channel 4 announce new appointments

Both Sky and Channel4 have announced the appointment of women to their most senior technology roles.

Sky has appointed Prasanna Gopalakrishnan as its new group chief technology officer, she will join the broadcaster in September.

Gopalakrishnan joins Sky from Bank of America where she has been working as managing director and CIO of Consumer Tech Business Operations.

Meanwhile, Grace Boswood is joining Channel 4 as the broadcaster's new technology director.

Boswood joins Channel 4 from the BBC where she is currently the chief operating officer of its design and engineering department and leads the delivery of strategic projects with the technology and digital teams, a post she has held for over five years.

Speaking about her new role she said: Channel 4 is a brand I have loved since my teenage years, and I believe in the power of technology to be a driving force behind the Future4 strategy. I am thrilled to be joining at this pivotal time for the business and further accelerating its move to digital.
