The 4th annual DStv Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards took place on Saturday 25 June at the Sun Bet Arena in Pretoria. The likes of Boity, Thando Thabethe, Lasizwe Dambuza and Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi were all in attendance. Limpopo-born musician Makhadzi and The River actor Lawrence Maleka, who also hosted the awards, both walked away with two awards.

MAKHADZI WINS BIG Makhadzi was nominated for three awards at the DStv Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards but walked away with the Favourite Artist/Group Award and Favourite Song Award for her mega-hit featuring Prince Benza, Ghanama.

Accepting her award for Favourite Music Artist/Group, Makhadzi thanked DStv, adding that she had performed at the awards show in March 2020, one week before the COVID-19 lockdown.

Whether they come as one or two just know that these artists make sure the groovists come alive on the dance floor.

HOST WITH THE MOST LAWRENCE MALEKA DOMINATES Not only did he entertain South Africa with his stellar hosting skills, but Lawrence Maleka also won himself two awards!

The SAFTA-winning actor walked away with the Favourite TV Presenter Award and the Ultimate Viewers Choice Award, for the entertainer with the most votes across all categories.
