RT Documentary On One success at European Awards

RT Documentary on One has been honoured with prizes in two individual categories at the 2024 Prix Europa Awards in Berlin.

Last Friday night in Berlin, RT Documentary on One's series The Real Carrie Jade was awarded a Special Commendation as Best European Audio Documentary Series of the Year.

And the investigative series, Runaway Joe, from RT Documentary on One was also awarded a Special Commendation as Best European Audio Investigation Series of the Year.

Prix Europa is the largest competition in the world for public service media and is held annually in Berlin. This year saw a total of 646 productions submitted from 31 countries, from which 161 were nominated into eight competition categories.

These unprecedented wins are the first time RT has won in the documentary/podcast series categories at Prix Europa and follows on from both series also winning Podcast of the Year' at last week's island of Ireland IMRO Radio awards, where Runaway Joe was awarded Gold, and The Real Carrie Jade awarded Silver.

The Real Carrie Jade was written, reported and produced by Ronan Kelly with Liam O'Brien. It was narrated by Justine Stafford. Original music soundtrack was composed by Fergal O'Connor and the sound designer was Ruth Kennington. Production assistance came from Nicoline Greer with legal advice from Darren Lynch and Deirdre Ann Kelly. Marketing and promotions were by Maria Buckley, Amy O'Driscoll and Fiona Burke with Press and Publicity from Jilly McDonough. The designer was Niamh McKeown. Nigel Wheatley provided Audio Product Support with additional online editorial content from Anna Joyce.

Runaway Joe was written, reported and produced by Pavel Barter and Tim Desmond. Research by Nicoline Greer. Original music soundtrack by Martin Klus k and Tom Borl. Sound designer is Peadar Carney and the executive producer was Liam O'Brien. Press and Publicity by Jilly McDonough. The promo producer was Damien Reid with marketing by Ro s n Clune and Hilary O'Callaghan. The designer was Loren Gibbons. Graphics by Amy Gilsenan. Social Media by Bree Treacy.
