Sorenson Media Names Albert Mombarg as EVP & General Manager, Europe

Smart TV Innovator Will Lead European Expansion and Roll Out

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (June 3, 2015) - Today, Sorenson Media announced that Albert Mombarg joined the company as EVP & General Manager, Europe to lead the company's expansion into the European market. Based in Amsterdam, Mombarg will be responsible for managing the introduction and roll out of Sorenson s Smart Broadcast solutions portfolio throughout Europe. Mombarg's appointment heralds the start of an exciting new growth phase for Sorenson Media and builds on the company's existing product development office in Cardiff, Wales.

I look forward to championing Sorenson's advanced Smart Broadcast capabilities such as increased viewer and content insights for broadcasters, as well as helping broadcasters and advertisers to create more personalized and interactive TV viewing experiences for consumers.

Mombarg will bring more than 15 years of experience in interactive television, multimedia and mobile solutions in Europe where he has made substantial contributions and led notable initiatives relating to the introduction of Smart TVs and related applications. In 2009, Albert introduced the first Smart TV for Philips. Mombarg then built up Philips' (and latterly TP Vision's) pan-European Smart TV portal that, due to its success, later expanded to Latin America and Russia. In 2012, Mombarg was a founding member of the Smart TV Alliance with LG and Toshiba, acting as first chairman.

His experience in creating and deploying first of its kind Smart TV solutions and his understanding of the European market will be invaluable as he introduces our Smart Broadcast solutions across Europe.

Mombarg joins Sorenson from TP Vision, owned by global TV giant TPV, which concentrates on developing, manufacturing and marketing Philips branded TV sets in Europe in addition to select countries in Asia and South America, where he served as Global Head of Smart TV for nearly three years. In this role, he managed TP Vision's consumer portfolio including premium Smart TV Apps, multi-screen content sharing, intuitive user interaction and business tools for monetization. Prior to joining TP Vision, Mombarg served as the Senior Director of Smart TV at Phillips where he led business development for Global, European and Latin American content and service providers.
