12-20-2012 SGL Group funds Endowed Chair at EBS Universitt Wiesbaden, December 20, 2012. SGL Group The Carbon Company and EBS Universitt fr Wirtschaft und Recht have announced the establishment of an Endowed Chair in Supply Chain Management. The aim of the partnership is to strengthen long-term, interdisciplinary cooperation that will focus on integrated logistic chains across the entire value creation process. The Chair will be located in the Institute for Supply Chain Management - Procurement and Logistics (ISCM) at EBS Universitt. Chair holder will be Professor Hans Sebastian Heese (38), who most recently taught as As-sociate Professor at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, USA.

Established for an initial period of five years with funding amounting to 1.75 million Euros, the Endowed Chair will formally take up activities in the summer semester 2013. It will conduct research into the challenging issues facing supply chain management and develop concrete proposals and innovative solutions to optimize value chains.

In order to achieve maximum closeness to practice and ensure the direct implementation of research results, cooperation will also include research into topics within SGL Groups worldwide production network.
