Talk us through an average day in your role Due to the global reach of LYNX Technik, my day typically begins with addressing overnight emails from Asia and California before shifting focus to projects in European time zones. I oversee the development of our product roadmap and ensure the long-term relevance of LYNX Technik's products. This involves extensive communication with individuals and teams engaged with selling, using, and manufacturing of our products. It's a fascinating role that requires a comprehensive understanding of the professional AV, television broadcast and post-production markets.
How did you get started in the media industry? My career in London began at an exciting time, thanks to the BBC's decision to privatise part of its R&D department. I was looking for software development roles in computer graphics when I came across a position in their design system department. It's a team of brilliant developers who had created several of the BBC's real-time graphics solutions, including the first weather and election results system. At that time, their primary focus was live sports graphics, and they were working to expand their reach beyond the UK while transitioning to HD. I joined the team during this pivotal phase, gradually advancing within the organisation and gaining invaluable experience in the global sports broadcast industry.

I hold a master's degree in computer graphics from the University of Paris Pierre et Marie Curie, driven by a long-standing interest in image and video processing. Interestingly, during my studies, we had courses on neuronal network - what we now widely refer to as Machine Learning or AI. I still remember the professor explaining how it used to take weeks to produce mediocre results. I can only hope they seized the opportunity to ride the AI wave when it finally arrived.
Why do you enjoy working in the industry? In the beginning, working with real-time video in a professional setting was exciting and fun. Over time, my role expanded to include exposure to sales, product launch, exhibitions, and customer deployments. Eventually, I took on greater management responsibilities, gaining a comprehensive macro perspective of the television broadcast market as well as the adjacent proAV and post-production ecosystems.
Having recently relocated to Germany, I'm thrilled and highly motivated by the opportunity to continue developing cutting edge products at LYNX Technik. This role offers a fresh perspective on the industry, allowing me to apply my knowledge and expertise, while exploring new areas and learning along the way.
What piece of advice would you offer someone looking to explore a role similar to yours? Pursue what you enjoy doing rather than fixating on a role that's10 to 15 years down the road. We perform best when we focus on our strengths, and as we grow in our careers, those strengths continue to evolve. Opportunities naturally come to those who are engaged, proactive, and committed to achieving and improving results.
