Rohde & Schwarz today announced the launch of the next generation of ARDRONIS Wi-Fi, a cutting-edge system for detecting, locating, and mitigating Wi-Fi-controlled drones. This innovative solution is part of the ARDRONIS family of solutions, which offers a comprehensive range of new capabilities.

ARDRONIS Wi-Fi from Rohde & Schwarz is designed to automatically detect and classify drones using wireless LAN, providing an approximate direction of the detected signal. The system can intercept the video signal transmitted from the drone to the pilot by some Wi-Fi drones and display it to the ARDRONIS operator. Furthermore, ARDRONIS Wi-Fi can identify drones by decoding the transmitted Remote ID, which provides detailed information about the drone, including its location, speed, altitude, and more.

One of the key features of ARDRONIS Wi-Fi is its ability to interrupt the connection between a specific pilot and their drone, providing an effective countermeasure against potential threats, completely without interference with other drones or signals. This is achieved through the systems smart disruption of Wi-Fi control links, which can be triggered in response to detected drone activity. It offers early warning while the drone is still grounded, making it an essential tool for security and surveillance applications.

This counter drone solution can be used as a standalone system or as an option for all ARDRONIS systems, providing flexibility and scalability for a wide range of applications. The system also offers different antenna options, including optional Wi-Fi sector antennas, which can be used to gain directional information and enhance detection range.
