Maverick appoints UK and Ireland head of sales

Global AV distributor Maverick AV Solutions has appointed Steve Martin as head of sales UK&I, in a move that will see him head up the Maverick UK sales team of 17 people.

Martin has more than 17 years' experience in the industry and began his career working with Micro Peripherals (now Exertis), then became part of the Tech Data family in 2003.

In 2006 he became the youngest sales manager in the history of Tech Data and subsequently led his team from being the smallest in terms of revenue to the top position.

He has expertise in partner management, cloud computing and enterprise sales and takes on a sales operation manging 170 accounts.

Martin said: I'm especially driven to be working with Maverick's Microsoft smart meeting solutions; Surface Hub 2S, the Avocor and Sharp Windows Collaboration Displays, as well as their end to end Teams solutions.

My knowledge of all the divisions of Tech Data including our IoT and security divisions will enable me to bring together solutions for our customers which add real value and deliver innovative results.

Martin will be based in the Basingstoke HQ for Maverick UK, which has demonstration facilities for the portfolio of smart signage and meeting technologies.
