InfoComm and AMX partner for training services

InfoComm International is collaborating with AMX Euope to provide networked audiovisual systems training to AV professionals. Nine discounted sessions of InfoComm's Networked AV Systems class will be offered to at least 75 students in Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom, raising the number of trained professionals in the region.

The three-day classes will take place at AMX Training Centres, and will cost 400/£350+VAT for members, 800/£650+VAT, for non-members. The Networked AV Systems course is built around real world applications, and the way AV and IT technologies must be coordinated to create the best experience. The course follows the process of matching AV and networking technologies to customer needs for digital signage, conferencing, remote monitoring and management, and networked AV security. It goes through the planning for three fictional companies, each with its unique requirements.

The AV world has evolved and if you lack knowledge of IT networks you are creating obstacles to your success, said David Labuskes (pictured), CTS, RCDD, executive director and CEO, InfoComm International. AV systems increasingly use enterprise IP networks the same networks that already carry mission-critical voice, data and other information. These networks were never designed with real time delivery of audiovisual content in mind. Without an in-depth understanding of IP networks and the way AV applications operate within them, customer expectations may not be met. And improperly configured AV devices can create catastrophic network problems. InfoComm thanks AMX for their strong commitment to this programme and industry quality.

During the course participants will learn how to glean customer needs, manage trade-offs between quality and bandwidth, and work through the sometimes conflicting needs of customers and network managers.
