Neotecnica sigue ampliando su portfolio de soluciones de vanguardia, ahora con la incorporaci n de los servidores Waves SoundGrid, que la firma va a distribuir para el territorio espa ol. Estos servidores permiten ampliar de forma dr stica la capacidad de procesamiento de las DAWs m s populares, como Pro Tools, Cubase o Logic, as como de los sistemas de mezcla Yamaha, DiGiCo y Allen & Heath, entre otros.
Waves, n mero uno mundial en procesamiento de audio basado en DSP, no s lo ofrece algunos de los mejores compresores, EQs, reverbs, limitadores y herramientas de modelado en formato plugin, entre otras. Este desarrollador ofrece tambi n una serie de servidores capaces de ejecutar en simult neo varias decenas o incluso centenares de instancias de dichos plugins. Esto supone una capacidad de procesamiento in dita y una importante descarga para las CPU de los ordenadores DAW o los chips DSP de los sistemas de mezcla en directo, estudio o broadcast. Adem s, estos servidores se integran en red Ethernet bajo protocolo SoundGrid, con lo que varios sistemas de mezcla o producci n de audio pueden conectarse a los mismos en simult neo.
Uso de los servidores SoundGrid
Los servidores SoundGrid se conectan directamente al puerto Ethernet del ordenador host que ejecuta la aplicaci n DAW (Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Logic, etc.). Si se trata de un sistema de mezclas, los procesadores SoundGrid se conectan mediante un cable Ethernet a la tarjeta/interfaz SoundGrid disponible para varios modelos de Yamaha, Allen & Heath y DiGiCo. Y si se desea hacer uso de los servidores SounGrid junto a dispositivos que no cuentan con un puerto Ethernet compatible, la respuesta est en las interfaces DiGiGrid (marca que tambi n distribuye Neot cnica), que permiten convertir a protocolo SoundGrid canales provenientes de fuentes anal gicas o hasta 256 canales desde MADI.
Las licencias de plugins para servidores SoundGrid se llaman del mismo modo (SoundGrid licenses), y suponen el m ximo nivel en concepto de autorizaci n de uso de software Waves. Esto significa que el propietario de una licencia de software SoundGrid puede emplear tambi n el mismo plugin en otras plataformas (tras haber cargado el instalador correspondiente). Por ejemplo, las versiones TDM y Venue (ambas de tipo DSP), o las versiones nativas en plataformas tales como SoundGrid Native y la mayor a de hosts (AAX nativo, VST, VST3, Audiosuite, Audio Units y RTAS).
Una opci n importante, sobre todo para ingenieros de mezcla en directo (FOH y monitores) es el software host MultiRack SoundGrid, que permite ejecutar en simult neo m ltiples instancias de plugins Waves. MultiRack SoundGrid, adem s, facilita la creaci n de cadenas de procesamiento para cada canal.
Sinergias entre SoundGrid y DiGiGrid
La adici n de la familia de procesadores SoundGrid al portfolio de Neot cnica, supone una perfecta sinergia con los productos DiGiGrid, cuya distribuci n exclusiva fue anunciada por Neot cnica recientemente. Todos los productos SoundGrid y DiGiGrid constituyen avanzadas soluciones en s mismos. Sin embargo, pueden combinarse para ofrecer soluciones a necesidades espec ficas, como brindar, por ejemplo, capacidades de procesamiento y transporte de audio en red a dispositivos que originalmente no son compatibles con ning n protocolo basado en Ethernet.
