The River December teasers reveal that actor Cornet Mamabolo's villainous character Lerumo in the 1Magic telenovela will get caught by Zweli when he tries to murder Beauty.

LERUMO DIES' The actor-businessman Cornet Mamabolo, who joined The River as Kabzela's half-brother Lerumo has been on a killing spree and will eventually get busted by Hlomla Dandala's character Zweli in December.

The TVSA December teasers add that Zweli will not be thrilled when he catches Refilwe's latest serial killer as he hired Lerumo as his gardener and regarded him as part of his family. This is because Mamabolo's character Lerumo was introduced to the Dikanas by their helper Flora.

The TVSA teasers also reveal that Beauty (Galaletsang Koffman) may have been Lerumo's latest target before he gets killed.

CORNET MAMABOLO IN THE RIVER' The actor Cornet Mamabolo, who took a break from Skeem Saam in 2021 reveals in an interview with Drum Magazine that returning to TV was not as easy as he imagined but he took the role because he won't be around for too long.

It was tough but the cast made it easy, they are experienced and accommodative, the directors also managed to bring me into the world of the show and the relationship dynamics of the characters that has already been established. When I received the character brief, the demon in me woke up, you know the love of acting evoked .

Mamabolo adds that Lerumo is a half-brother to Khabzela [played by Thabiso Segohadi]. They share the same father but have different mothers. He's from a village called Lebowakgomo and was raised by his grandmother because his mother was really never there for him.

He comes from a very tough background and got arrested at the age of 19, and then spent six years in prison because of a rape case. He was framed after the lady he dated was caught cheating by her husband and Lerumo didn't know she was married, and because the lady didn't want to admit to cheating, she lied and said Lerumo raped her.

The talented actor had to do a bit of research on serial killers from documentaries when he landed the role.

Eventually I managed to get a grip of it. I think also trying to have fun with it has also allowed me to bring the character to life.
