On the afternoon of March 19th, the 2017 China Fenghua Cross-strait Mountain & Peach Blossoms Marathon opened amidst a sea of pink peach blossoms in Fenghua District, Ningbo. The activity attracted over 4000 marathon lovers from 13 countries and both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
The Marathon set three events including a full marathon, a half marathon and a mini marathon. Runners were greeted by peach flowers throughout the course which wound through Xikou, a 5A-level scenic spot in Tengtou and stretched along streams, hills, ancient villages and modern farmyards. Besides the unique joy brought by a mountain marathon, runners can also appreciate the beautiful flower-dotted mountain landscape. Several activities were also arranged during the Marathon, such as the Peach Flower Romance A Rendezvous in Fenghua activity and the Hand Fasting under Peach Flower Tree activity, recording one after another pink peach blossom-scented love stories.
Fenghua is known as the hometown to Chiang Kai-shek. This year's Cross-strait Mountain & Peach Blossoms Marathon continued to witness the participation of sports lovers from across the Taiwan Strait a total of 43 Taiwanese have come to join the competition, fraternizing with their kindred spirits on the other side.
