If youre down at the PLASA show in London today, dont forget the Stage To Studio: Recording A Live Band' seminar, which takes place from 3pm. A collaboration between SOS and Headliner magazines, its aimed at helping attendees to make better live recordings. The seminar will be hosted by Jamie McEvoy, engineer at Miloco Studios, who will offer a unique insight into the decision-making processes involved, including mic choices, placements and mix decisions, with his DAW moves visible on a big screen above the stage throughout the live band recording and mixing process.

Today Jamie will be recording the current band line-up supporting former Carnabys frontman Jack Mercer, aka VC Pines, as heard in the singles Garden Of The Year' and Vixen'.

If its too late for you to attend in person, you can still be involved. After the show, the stem files making up todays live band recording will be made available from the PLASA Show website, allowing anyone to test out their live mix skills. You can even enter your mixes into a competition; PLASAs expert team will choose the best mix and the winner will receive a prize.
