AT SCTE ISBE CABLE-TEC EXPO 2017 OPENING GENERAL SESSION

Picciolo, Marchetti, Martin to Join Liberty Global's Fries and Charter's Rutledge for Kickoff Session

SEPT. 14, 2017 (Exton, PA)-Senior operations executives from three of the country's largest MSOs will join CEOs who have steered their companies to national or international prominence at the Opening General Session of SCTE ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2017 on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Denver.

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineer (SCTE) and its global arm, the International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE), announced today that three highly regarded executives -- Debi Picciolo, senior vice president of operations, West Region for Charter Communications; Ed Marchetti, senior vice president, technical operations, customer experience for Comcast; and Patricia Martin, vice president, service assurance for Cox - will share their expertise on a General Session panel entitled Operation Bottom Line: On a Mission to Drive Customer Satisfaction and ROI. The panel will be moderated by Leslie Ellis, president of Ellis Edits.

The General Session will open with a keynote conversation with Mike Fries, CEO of Liberty Global, and will close with keynote remarks by Tom Rutledge, Chairman and CEO of Charter Communications. The session also will include remarks from the Cable-Tec Expo 2017 Program Committee co-chairs, Jim Blackley, executive vice president, engineering and information technology, Charter Communications, and Terry Cordova, vice chairman, business development-network and technology services, Altice USA, as well as the president and CEO of SCTE ISBE, Mark Dzuban.

SCTE ISBE Cable-Tec Expo will be held from Tuesday, Oct. 17 through Friday, Oct. 20 at the Colorado Convention Center. Wednesday's General Session will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Bellco Theatre.

When it comes to fulfilling corporate strategies and driving business results, successful operational implementations are where the rubber meets the road, said Chris Bastian, senior vice president, engineering and CTO for SCTE ISBE. Debi Picciolo, Ed Marchetti and Patricia Martin are among the best-positioned to explain how seamless integration and deployment of technologies by a well-trained workforce can boost subscriber satisfaction and revenue.

Picciolo is the winner of the 2017 Women in Technology Award presented by SCTE ISBE, Women in Cable Telecommunications and Cablefax for her role in spearheading a variety of industry innovations, including the pioneering and standardization of one-hour customer service appointment windows across the former Legacy Time Warner Cable Regions. Throughout his career, Comcast's Marchetti has been responsible for initiating and implementing operational innovations that have increased efficiency and improved the customer experience. Martin's accomplishments include leading the first market rollout of the Go All-Digital digital video services platform, establishing the first national team of virtual construction estimators, and setting up Cox's first generation video back office national center of excellence.

SCTE ISBE Cable-Tec Expo Week begins on Monday, Oct. 16 with a One Day Immersion program at The Cable Center; the event is supported by the Emma Bowen Foundation and is designed to stimulate career opportunities for college students, recent graduates and graduate level candidates. On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the agenda will feature the start of almost four-dozen technical workshops, a deep-dive seminar on Remote PHY that is free to all paid Full Conference attendees and the Cable TV Pioneers Annual Banquet and Class of 2017 induction ceremonies. Other highlights of Cable-Tec Expo 2017 include an ongoing series of thought leadership presentations at the Innovation Theater in the heart of the exhibit hall, an International Experience underscoring Expo's growing importance within the global cable community and the CORTEX Cable Olympics and IP Challenge events that recognize workforce expertise.
