C te Ouest announces international sales of African content --

The premier distributor of content for and from Africa, C te Ouest, announces a remarkable range of international sales for Pokou Princess Ashanti, Africa Zapping and Emmy-nominated Angolan soap-opera Windeck. Amounting to 200 hours, the deals were sold to various territories in Europe and Africa.

Emmy-nominated Angolan soap opera Windeck, which headlines C te Ouest s extraordinary number of sales, has been sold to TV channels from the MultiChoice group in South Africa.

Produced by Angolan production company Semba, Windeck (120 x 45 ), explores the consequences of uninhibited ambition in the fictional newsroom of a lifestyle magazine called Divo.

A web of betrayal and intrigue, passion and glamour within the publishing world is brought to life in the series. While capturing the vibrancy of Angolan culture, Windeck portrays the story of those who will stop at nothing to succeed.

The series was shot on location Luanda, Angola s capital and one of Africa s most vibrant cities. Windeck experienced massive success in Angola and Portugal where it achieved a market share of 22.3% on RTP1, which is the main the main television channel of R dio e Televis o de Portugal, the Portuguese public broadcasting corporation.

Innovative and uique series Africa Zapping, produced by C te Ouest, has already started airing daily on Vox Africa and has been acquired by more than 10 local and national TV channels on the African continent.

The series, produced on a daily basis, serves as a barometer of the social, cultural and political life in Africa. Africa Zapping comprises three-minute snapshots of outstanding, hilarious and sometimes strange TV moments that have been broadcast across French-speaking African in the previous 24 hours. The contrast of different views presented in these clips results in a humorous and creative show that will captivate viewers everywhere.

The film Pokou Princess Ashanti, produced by production company Afrikatoon, has been acquired by TV5 Afrique and is the first 65-minute 3D animation movie from the C te d Ivoire. It tells the story of an 18th century princess who sacrificed her son to save her people.
