Snell's ICE Channel-in-a-Box system, already the most comprehensive CiaB solution in the market by a significant margin, arrived at NAB with a host of new features and capabilities - including a full master control style panel for manual interventions - that further extend its effectiveness and capability.

The new ICE developments on show at NAB are:

Master Control Panel Operators need a hardware control surface for managing highly reactive playout situations such as live sports. That's why Snell has developed a user-configurable hardware master control panel for ICE which puts all major live functions at the user's fingertips. The 1U panel is responsive for confident on-air use, and includes user-definable, relegendable LCD buttons that offer one-touch control of the upstream router, and one-touch graphics, keyers, DVE, audio-over etc.

Eight outputs doubling the branding power of ICE, enabling users to support more channels or variants on a single ICE system all within the same compact 2U mainframe; for example, HD and SD channel pairs, clean and branded feeds, and even delay feeds, making ICE even more capable and efficient.

Play out growing media now ICE users can begin playout before media is fully transferred; great for working with late-delivered media, and adding new flexibility to ICE playout operations.

Faster FTP transfers now with 3x faster ingest capability, delivering faster turnaround and more efficient handling of high bitrate media.

High quality scaling built-in ICE's new built-in scaling capability uses high quality HD/SD up/down conversion algorithms to deliver stunning pictures and bringing even more of the broadcast chain into the ICE box.

Media Biometrics ICE now includes Snell Media Biometrics, extending its media intelligence right through the production chain to playout, providing the ultimate in quality assurance.
