Cloud and big IP data will boost pay televisionUn estudio, desarrollado por Nagra y MTM, examina las carteras de productos y servicios de 93 proveedores de servicios de televisi n de pago a trav s de los 18 mayores mercados de televisi n de pago en Europa.
A study developed by Nagra en colaboraci n la consultora MTM, el desarrollo de la televisi n de pago estar basado en tres pilares fundamentales: IP, nube y big data.
Europa es uno de los mercados m s avanzados de televisi n de pago en el mundo, con el 92 por ciento de los proveedores de servicios que ahora ofrece servicios multipantalla, el 49 por ciento que proporciona acceso a los servicios OTT de terceros en sus plataformas, y el 30 por ciento que cuenta con una oferta independiente con servicios desagregados OTT.
Sin embargo, pocos est n evolucionando a propuestas de ltima generaci n, como el v deo 4K (10 por ciento) y control de voz (3 por ciento). Estas reas centrar n el foco en los pr ximos cinco a os, seg n este informe.
La investigaci n tambi n muestra que la expansi n en reas de negocio adyacentes es a n muy incipiente, con s lo el 12 por ciento que actualmente ofrece servicios de seguridad para el hogar y el 9 por ciento que prestan servicios de automatizaci n en el hogar.
El informe examina las carteras de productos y servicios de 93 proveedores de servicios de televisi n de pago a trav s de los 18 mayores mercados de televisi n de pago en Europa. Esto demuestra que los mayores proveedores de servicios, ya sean proveedores de televisi n de pago pan-regionales o empresas de telecomunicaciones europeas, son los m s avanzados.
Simon Trudelle, director senior de marketing de producto en Nagra, reconoce que es fascinante ver que los participantes en este estudio mencionan un fuerte enfoque en la concepci n de una oferta de productos de televisi n de pago mejor en los pr ximos a os, sobre todo en t rminos de contenido, empaquetado y distribuci n OTT, al tiempo que expresan un menor inter s por la expansi n en oportunidades adyacentes. Esto tambi n significa que a medida que se intensifica la competencia, los proveedores de servicios de televisi n de pago tendr n que acelerar el tiempo de comercializaci n e innovaci n. Para crear valor para sus clientes, ser n necesarias asociaciones con proveedores y colaboraciones entre m ltiples compa as establecidas. Con esto en mente, es imperativo que los proveedores de servicios sigan invirtiendo en soluciones de pr xima generaci n que mejoren la experiencia del usuario en todas las pantallas para que puedan diferenciarse, atraer nuevos suscriptores y mantener su crecimiento en cuanto a ingresos y rentabilidad .
Jon Watts, socio director de MTM, entiende que a medida que los proveedores de servicios buscan introducir nuevos servicios, est claro que la innovaci n basada en IP, tecnolog as de nube y el big data jugar n un papel clave en el fortalecimiento de productos de televisi n y v deo en todas las pantallas .
