Administrative Committee of Sino-Italian Ecological Park established

The Administrative Committee of the Sino-Italian Ecological Park, one of the eight international ecological parks in China, was inaugurated in the coastal new town of Yuyao Economic Development Zone on December 11. Meanwhile, two projects were started on the Euro-Us High-end Car Part Industrial Base of the park, and ten projects were signed with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan.

With a total planned area of 40 square kilometers, the park consists of two lake areas and five functional zones, including the urban life area on the southern bank of the lake, the ecological living area on the northern bank of the lake, the central complex island, the energy-saving industrial zone, the R&D innovative zone, the life and health industrial zone and the high-end equipment manufacturing zone. By introducing the advanced technologies, administration, talents and capitals, the park will mainly develop the four leading industries as the energy-saving and environmental protection industry, equipment manufacturing, life and health and education and training, and build a demonstration area for energy-saving and emission reduction and green and low-carbon development, as well as a model for bilateral trade cooperation between China and Italy.

Among others, the Euro-US high-end car parts industrial base, with a planned area of 700 mu and a total investment of five billion yuan, aims to attract the settlement of high-end car parts corporations from Europe and the US. Upon completion, the base is expected to achieve an annual sales volume of six billion yuan and an annual tax revenue of one billion yuan. The first phase of the project was started on December 11. With an area of 300 mu and an investment of 1.8 billion yuan, the two projects of the first phase aim to achieve an annual sales volume of two billion yuan and an annual tax revenue of 400 million yuan.

Among the ten projects signed on December 11, there are seven from Italy, with a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan, mainly in such fields as high-end car parts, small aircrafts, and industrial automation equipment. Currently, six projects are under construction at the park, with a total investment of 3.4 billion yuan, including the comprehensive treatment project from Italy, the auto engine parts project from German, the car luggage rack and pedal project from the US, and the solar thermal equipment manufacturing project from Sweden.
