ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland secures German rights to Warner Bros. formats Barely Legal Drivers and Date Night (WT)

Unterf hring, May 21th 2013. ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland GmbH has secured the German rights to the entertainment formats Barely Legal Drivers and Date Night (WT) from Warner Bros. International Television Production. Warner has offered us a first glance at Date Night during our European pitch in Budapest in March - and its interactive approach had us intrigued right from the start. Barely Legal Drivers, too is a perfect fit for our TV group, said J rgen H rner, Chairman of the Managing Board of ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland GmbH.

We are delighted that ProSiebenSat.1 has picked up two of our new crop of formats. Both Date Night and Barely Legal Drivers are outstanding examples of the best TV formats coming out of the UK. Barely Legal Drivers has delivered audiences for BBC3 in the U.K. and Date Night is set to be a hit on Channel 4 next month, commented Andrew Zein, Senior Vice President, Creative, Format Development and Sales, Warner Bros. Barely Legal Drivers

In every show, two young drivers get a taste of freedom as they take to the open road for the first time. The catch? The car has been rigged with hidden cameras, and their parents are watching. If the kids can prove they should be behind the wheel, they win a car. But if theyre reckless, its back to taking the bus. Barely Legal Drivers premiered in April 2013 on BBC Three, with average markets shares of 3% - which is higher than the slot average and continually performed as the top show on the channel for the night.

Date Night (WT)

In this unique dating format with an interactive twist, viewers have the chance to date someone they see on the show. After a variety of singles arrange via Internet dating sites to meet for a first date at one restaurant or bar, hidden cameras capture every detail of their unmediated interactions, from first impressions to parting at the end of the night. If sparks dont fly, then the unsuccessful daters pitch themselves to the viewers at home, who can apply to date them the following week! Following real people in their quest for love, this documentary series lays bare the real-life anatomy of a first date, uncovering individuals very different emotional cores. The new show is to debut on Channel 4 later this year.
