Harmonic Creates Dedicated Professional Support Organization for Customers of Cable Edge Solutions 16 Oct 2013
Cable Edge Services Team Enables Cable Operators to Grow Capacity and Implement the Latest Technologies, Including CCAP, With Minimal Effort or Disruption
Harmonic (NASDAQ: HLIT), the worldwide leader in video delivery infrastructure, today announced the expansion of its support services for cable edge customers. The companys new Cable Edge Services group includes a team of technical support and field engineers dedicated to providing design, strategy, deployment, migration, and ongoing operations support for cable operators as they implement the latest high-density Harmonic NSG edgeQAM solutions and, ultimately, a Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP). With the addition of the dedicated Cable Edge Services team, Harmonic has created a turnkey solution for MSOs and cable operators looking to expand capacity or add new service groups in an existing live cable edge network.
Cable operators have long turned to Harmonic for our expertise in cable infrastructure and operational issues, said Nimrod Ben-Natan, senior vice president and general manager of Cable Products at Harmonic. Were now taking our service offerings to the next level by simplifying the deployment, operations, and maintenance of the cable edge and live production networks for operators. Our expanded Cable Edge Services help our customers protect their infrastructure investment by enabling them to implement new technologies, such as CCAP, with minimal disruption as their needs and requirements change. We act as an extension of their staff so that they can expand capacity and reap its benefits more quickly.
Harmonics Cable Edge Services are designed to help MSOs keep their 24/7/365 operations up-to-date efficiently and cost-effectively. Service team members have decades of experience in operating and maintaining live production cable networks, and intimately understand the intricacies of every ancillary system touched by the cable edge network. Services offered include physical system installation, provisioning, service group testing, cutover support, recovery of legacy edgeQAM, and operations training.
Unlike vendors who charge by the hour, Harmonics service model is based on a fixed price and schedule for every support project. Cable Edge Services are available now as an option for customers of all Harmonic NSG products.
