Entries for the 2013 Rose d'Or Awards, which celebrate outstanding international entertainment TV under the auspices of EUROVISION, have soared by more than a third on the previous year.
327 programmes were submitted from 129 production companies and broadcasters from 31 countries worldwide. This represents a 38 per cent increase on 2012. Entries have leapt in all six categories. Entertainment programme submissions doubled during 2012; Sitcom entries are up by 75 per cent, and Comedy, rose by 50 per cent to 63 entries

Reality and Factual Entertainment (102 compared with 90)
Sitcoms (33 compared with 19)
Comedy (63 compared with 42)
Entertainment (50 compared with 25)
Arts (51 compared with 38)
Full organizational rights to the Rose dOr, one of entertainment TVs oldest and most prestigious awards were acquired in 2012 by EUROVISION, operated by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
EUROVISION Media Director, Annika Nyberg Frankenhaeuser said European nations top the list of participating countries in the awards. This year, the UK is the largest contributor followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Norway and Israel. Australia and Canada also feature in the top ten. Outside Europe, entries have been submitted from among others, from India, China, South Korea and New Zealand.
"Some entries are simply outstanding," she said, "and we look forward to rewarding the innovation and creativity that marks entertainment as a keystone of broadcasting schedules."
The Rose d'Or Awards Ceremony will take place in Brussels on May 30, 2013, on the penultimate evening of the Media Summit. www.rosedor.com
