Datuk Nicol David Little Legends docuseries on Astro Arena
Astro Arena is excited to announce a new docuseries that showcases the inspiring story of Datuk Nicol David and her Little Legends. The Nicol David Organisation was founded by Datuk Nicol David and Mariana de Reyes with the mission of empowering girls and boys through sport and education with their programme Little Legends . Established in Kuala Lumpur, it provides an after-school programme that includes Squash training and English tutoring to children in low- and mid-income families.
The non-profit organisation was launched on 2 June 2022, with a total of 60 trainees pertaining from 4 public schools in Bukit Jalil and Sri Petaling. The programme will receive 60 additional children in May 2023 for a total of 120 trainees. The trainees begin their journey from age 8 and will remain for 5 years until completing their primary school years and officially graduate from NDO.
The five-part docuseries will take viewers on a journey through Nicol Davids story, from her childhood in Penang to becoming the greatest female squash player of all time, and a behind the scenes look at how the Little Legends programme has impacted the community and the children to build stronger values and grow through the power of sports.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Hannah Yeoh said, The story of Nicol David and her foundation is inspiring and uplifting. Nicols commitment to not only achieving greatness as a squash player but also supporting the development of grassroots through her organisation is paving the way for the future of Malaysian squash players. I am also delighted that Astro Arena has partnered to tell her story through this docuseries, which will inspire a new generation of young people to pursue their dreams in squash.
Nicol David said, Weve had an amazing journey with our Little Legends and Im so proud that we have been able to document it and now share it with everyone. My goal is to inspire others to take on the power of giving back whatever has been given to us and share it for others to grow. I was so fortunate to achieve my dreams growing up and now I cant find any better way than to share all the knowledge I once received from my mentors and coaches to the next generation. My dream is to have children that believe they can do anything they set their minds to.

She is a Malaysian icon and her dedication to empowering young people through squash is truly inspiring. This docuseries is an integral part of our mission to share the inspiring stories of Malaysias local heroes, and we are committed to producing more of such stories in the future.
Watch the 5-part Little Legends docuseries on Astro Arena (Ch 801), with a new episode releasing every Saturday at 3PM from 18 March.
