Energy management component of StruxureWare software suite is key enabler of cross-domain EcoStruxure solutions
Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has announced the availability of StruxureWare Energy Operation, a comprehensive energy management information system that addresses energy challenges within large buildings. Using data aggregated from multiple sites, the software enables facility or energy managers to identify areas for continuous improvement, to reduce operating expense and optimise energy usage.
Energy Operation leverages companies' current investments in their existing systems, and can be used to communicate results and performance to a broad audience for a shared understanding throughout an organisation. The remote monitoring feature, using robust and resilient bureau services, eliminates the need for software installation and saves capacity on servers.
Energy Operation software automates data collection via an open, scalable, and secure energy management information system. With the help of the Schneider Electric Energy and Sustainability Services team, data is then turned into actionable information to enable customers to understand their facilities' performance on an ongoing basis.
Businesses today want to improve energy efficiency to reduce and control operating expenses, especially as they deal with volatile energy prices, changing government regulations, environmental footprint reduction, and a growing need for an improved sustainability image, said Martin Stephenson, Vice President, Energy and Sustainability Services UK&I at Schneider Electric. Energy Operation goes beyond traditional energy management parameters and aligns energy use with business strategies, giving facility and energy managers the tools they need to help them understand the true drivers behind efficiency, energy, and costs. In turn, this helps them collaborate with key stakeholders on decisions, and share best practices that will sustain savings and optimise energy use.
As the operations sub-system of StruxureWare software suite, Energy Operation offers more than just monitoring; it leverages Schneider Electric's expertise to automate the control of processes for continuous energy optimisation. All components are engineered for complete interoperability to ensure data quality. Energy Operation applications also scale easily to customer needs, starting with simple energy reporting, and growing to sophisticated modeling and automation controls as required. It is a flexible and customisable energy management information system that can unlock hidden energy potential, providing data and reports that offer deeper insights into processes and performance. It delivers advanced presentation of energy consumption statistics for large portfolio or multi-site enterprises and enables aggregation of data in one location for more effective analysis.
Energy Operation can also be seamlessly integrated within a larger EcoStruxure solution for efficient energy management across all the domains of an enterprise including power, process, IT room, building management, and security.
