SMT Gone Through a Special Volleyball Super League Final posted: 07/09/2020
On September 1, 2020, the 2019-20 Mens Volleyball Super League finals ended at the Qinhuangdao National Sports Training Center. The Shanghai Mens Volleyball Team defeated the Jiangsu Mens Volleyball Team with score of 2-0 and won the championship for the sixth consecutive year. This is also the 16th championship of the Shanghai Mens Volleyball Team. This seasons mens volleyball league played the first round on January 19, and it came to an abrupt suspension because of the epidemic. It was not until August 20 that the game was rekindled at the Qinhuangdao National Sports Training Center. Drawing on the successful experience of the CBA and Chinese Football Association Super League (CSL), the mens volleyball league this season has also adopted a closed game system and an empty field for the needs of epidemic prevention and control.
How to make use of new technology to do a good job in the production and broadcasting of the volleyball Super League in special times, and present an unprecedented experience for fans?
Participated in this year's CBA and CSL broadcasting, according to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, the SMT team has accumulated rich production experience and applied IP-based, cloud-based and lightweight equipment to achieve on-site production, remote production, technical mid-stage and virtualized broadcasting which helped rematch of three major domestic ball games.
The Men's Volleyball League together with Migu Video and China Sports Media, once again innovated to realize a new intelligent broadcasting ecology of front HD production IP transmission, rear studio production multi-platform distribution, and VR production multi-information implantation, which presented a wonderful game for the majority of fans.
4K/HD VR Informatization to Enhance Immersive Experience
SMT broadcasting team has been committed to improving the immersive experience since it had its first 4K UHD OB Van in 2016. In the mens volleyball finals, the three systems of 4K/HD VR informatization are combined to present the scene data experience together.
In the VR broadcasting system that developed in 2019, SMT adds the function of visual guidance on the basis of the traditional 360-degree view, adding real-time data, PGM signals, virtual stereo, and other content, which emphasized interaction and informatization. This system has completed about 20 games in the three phrases of 2020 CBA Rematch and the 2019 World College Student 3v3 Basketball Game which gradually create a template for immersive broadcasting.
IP Remote Production Streaming satisfy the individual experience
If the changes on the scene are amazing enough, the new application of SMT on the broadcast side is more popular with users on the 2B and 2C side. Unlike traditional production, the broadcast of this volleyball final uses a pure IP architecture. With the advantages of 5G communication, the live 4K/HD signal is transformed into a high-quality code stream for dual-backup routing transmission, which makes it more convenient to realize the broadcast on multiple platforms such as TV and APP.
Remote production technology, distributed the unfinished strips that cannot be completed in the front, and adopted secondary processing on celebrity collection, data analysis and other functions created its unique event signal packaging system for Migu Video. By using this transmission method, can greatly improves efficiency and simplifies resources. Create a New Intelligent Ecology
As M-Hub Jingan Cultural Interactive Comprehensive Space released by SMT in June this year, it fully combines 5G, 4K, AI, AR, big data and other new technical elements to build the concept of technology space, broadcasting transmission also ushered in a new ecology of intelligent broadcasting.
Immersive experience streaming media distribution will become a new mode of sports event communication in this era.
