Miercom 2015 Secure Web Gateway Industry Assessment Testing Results
Princeton, NJ - April 16, 2015 - Miercom, leading the industry in security testing, has completed the 2015 Secure Web Gateway Industry Assessment Review. The latest products from market leaders were put through a series of tests that assessed the ability of each security appliance to analyze and block real-world threats. These threats comprised by Miercom featured an unbiased sample set of live Internet targets and subjected the products in testing to the threats in parallel.
The Miercom Secure Web Gateway Industry Study is an ongoing endeavor in which all vendors have an equal opportunity to participate and contribute to the most comprehensive and challenging test program in the industry.
Miercom conducts the Secure Web Gateway (SWG) Industry Assessment to create a definitive resource for end-users evaluating SWG products, and gives a comprehensive assessment of SWG solutions available on the market. We provide an independent assessment of the capabilities and performance of the leading products in the network security space. Each vendor has the opportunity to represent their product and demonstrate competitive differentiation. Vendors also have the opportunity to provide input to the test methodology, and are briefed privately on test results before publication.
While at RSA the largest info security conference in world, which draws nearly 30,000 attendees per year, Miercom representatives will be presenting Miercom Rated Best Certification awards to the leading vendors in the 2015 Secure Web Gateway testing. The Zscaler Internet Security Platform with Advanced Threat Protection for best overall value and TCO, Check Point 12200 NGTP showed the best detection results for Advanced Evasion Techniques and Advanced Persistent Threat malware, the Websense TRITON AP-WEB V10000 had the best results in Miercom's testing of active threat malicious URLs and exploits.
These security gateway products are recognized as having proven that they are the top performers in a specific testing class conducted in the 2015 Secure Web Gateway Industry Study, Said Robert Smithers, CEO of Miercom.
