LOS ANGELES, CA - Jasmine Madatian has joined DreamWorks Studios as executive vice president, communications, it was announced today by DreamWorks president and chief operating officer Jeff Small, and Holly Bario, president of production.
In her new role, Madatian will be responsible for all communications strategies and media relations for the company, and will report to Small and Bario. She takes over for former head of publicity, Chip Sullivan, who was previously promoted to head of global brand integration at DreamWorks Animation in September. Madatian will work alongside Marvin Levy, longtime EVP, marketing. Publicity VP Kristin Stark continues on in her role, and reports to both Madatian and Levy.
Jasmine Madatian is a highly-skilled communications professional with an impressive track record. Herexcellent relationships with media and members of the creative community make her the natural choice to guide our company's communications efforts as we look towards the future, said Small.
Madatian has held senior communications positions at Walt Disney Studios, Paramount Pictures, Fox, and most recently at The Academy, where she oversaw all corporate communications and publicity for The Oscars. Prior to the Academy, she served as senior vice president of publicity, promotions and field marketing for Walt Disney Studios, where she was responsible for developing strategic branding and publicity campaigns for such award-winning films as Ratatouille, WALL-E and Up. Additionally, she spearheaded the campaigns for Enchanted, The Proposal and Alice in Wonderland. While at The Walt Disney Company she was involved in the studios launch of the Disneynature label, D23, and the first-ever 3D presentation at Comic-Con.
Prior to joining The Walt Disney Company,Madatian spent eight years as senior vice president of publicity and promotions at Paramount Pictures, where she supervised release and awards campaigns and played an integral role in corporate communications. Thediverse range of films she worked on included War of the Worlds, Titanic, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Hours, Mission: Impossible II, Team America: World Police and Jackass: The Movie.
Madatian has worked in multiple facets of the entertainment industry, including film and TV, strategic planning for non-profits, media training, awards campaigns, crisis management and events. She has also served as a consultant to the city of Los Angeles Tourism Board.
