TVBEurope and Tektronix are joining forces to host a free webinar on 7th December.

The live webinar, titled Setting scope waveform levels in HDR, will take place at 3pm GMT.

With the expert knowledge of Tektronixs application engineer, Michael Waldston, the webinar will discuss the 90 per cent white (100 IRE) and 18 per cent grey (40 IRE) scope-levels of SDR BT.709 that no longer apply to adjusting the exposure and highlights of the various HDR log camera gammas and new HDR formats.

As the average luminance level of HDR and SDR should not be that different, a new and more simple scope waveform scale is required. This new scale will ensure preservation of blacks and highlights, as well as artistic adjustments simultaneously for SDR and HDR.
