httv And Thomson Video Networks Partner On End-To-End HbbTV 1.5 Platform
Paris, France - Sep.9, 2013. httv is pleased to announce a partnership with Thomson Video Networks, a leading provider of advanced video compression solutions, to offer a cost effective end-to-end HbbTV Platform for DVB-T2 and OTT markets. A joint demonstration will be showcased at IBC 2013 on Thomson Video Networks' booth 14.A10.
Thomson Video Networks and httv have decided to join forces to offer an efficient product for emerging markets which are increasingly switching from analogue to DVB-T2 platforms, especially in Asia. A first demonstration of their cooperation was showcased at the end of July 2013 at the occasion of Thaibex exhibition in Thailand followed by a demonstration at Digital TV Life exhibition at the end of August 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
IBC 2013 is a step forward in their collaboration as they now offer a joint solution for OTT markets.
The IBC joint demonstration will showcase how various HbbTV 1.5 services, including OTT video services streamed using MPEG-DASH, can be delivered alongside live broadcast services. This end-to-end platform will give access to a better Quality Of Service in the Over The Top environment on the internet. The demonstration is based on httvStream, httv s HbbTV compliant play-out solution, as well as Thomson Video Networks' ViBETM EM4000 premium HD/SD encoder, ViBE VS7000 multi-screen video platform and FlextreamTM 2.0 statistical multiplexing technology, which can bring significant video quality improvements by managing variations in video content bandwidth.
