El pionero del trip-hop y productor discogr fico Andy Barlow ha incorporado junto a los monitores inteligentes Genelec 8030, los monitores 1238 y los coaxiales 8331 de 3 v as de la gama The Ones a su home-studio en Brighton (Reino Unido).
Barlow est familiarizado con la tecnolog a de Genelec confiando en este fabricante durante m s de veinte a os a lo largo de su exitosa carrera en la producci n y remixes de David Gray, Elbow, Placebo y, m s recientemente, U2. Andy Bensley, del distribuidor brit nico de Genelec, Source Distribution, instal los nuevos 1238 en el estudio de Brighton. Es donde hago casi toda mi mezcla, desde U2 a David Gray y Lamb en el ltimo a o , explica Barlow.
Mientras tanto, los 8331 se empaquetaron para trabajar durante el invierno en Goa, donde preparar nuevas canciones canciones con Lou Rhodes para el pr ximo lbum de Lamb. La ltima inversi n de Andy en la monitorizaci n de Genelec se produce tras varios meses de coproducir el nuevo lbum de U2, Songs Of Experience, que ya es n mero uno en 20 pa ses. Usamos los grandes monitores 1238CF en un estudio improvisado dentro de la Embajada de Canad en Dubl n , revela. Estaba frente a la casa de Bono, en una gran sala que necesitaba toda la ayuda ac stica que pod a obtener. Los 1238 y el uso de software GLM fueron una gran ventaja en ese sentido. El lbum se hizo principalmente en lugares como mansiones, hoteles, lugares. Sonaban geniales directamente de las cajas, pero luego corrimos la sala a trav s del procesamiento GLM y sonaron un 30% mejor nuevamente. Hicimos algunos ajustes adicionales de o do, a diferencia del micr fono GLM, y ahora simplemente iluminan la habitaci n de una manera tan hermosa. Puedes sentir cada frecuencia y tocarlas realmente fuerte, pero a n as hablar a un nivel normal y relajado. La mezcla es amplia y suave y no hay un toque de distorsi n. Nunca hab a escuchado algo as , a ade.
De sus nuevos 8331, reconoce que los ha estado poniendo a prueba en mi estudio de Goa en las ltimas dos semanas, y honestamente he podido hablar de ellos todo el d a. La definici n es insuperable. La sala est lejos de ser perfecta, con poco tratamiento ac stico, pero con GLM haciendo magia, los 8331 llenan la habitaci n de una manera incre ble. Adem s, para un altavoz tan peque o sin sub, el extremo inferior es la f sica que desaf a. El extremo superior es refinado y suave, y el punto dulce est reo parece mucho m s grande que cualquier otro altavoz que he usado. Estoy revisando todas las pistas que he producido y encuentro nuevos sonidos y toques que no hab a escuchado antes .
