SportsTechBuzz at NAB 2026, Day 4: Live Reports From the Show Floor in Vegas

Nemal Electronics (Booth C4941)

Nemal Electronics is debuting the FOPA-100-MTPXX-XX, a breakout adapter for converting MTP12 or MTP24 fiber connectors into standard discrete fiber connectors. Available connector options are LC, ST, SC, or combinations thereof in standard or angle polish. Featuring a black-powder-coated heavy-grade aluminum enclosure with a triangular flange for surface mounting or hanging, the unit incorporates Neutrik opticalCON Advanced chassis connectors with automatic dust shutters and IP65 protection when mated.

Nemal is also displaying its broader range of broadcast connectivity product: tactical SMPTE cable with LEMO or Neutrik opticalCON connectors, HD/3G/4K audio and video cable, tactical fiber, RF cables, DT-12 connectors, CAT5/CAT6 and etherCON snakes, AVFlex cables, opticalCON DUO and QUAD adapters, XLR intercom adapters, and Stadium4 plenum cable for sports-venue SMPTE infrastructure.

Netgear (Booth C7307)

Netgear is exhibiting new switch hardware and updates to its Engage Controller software, with its network-design team available for personalized demos and on-demand sessions covering IP-based broadcast network design.

Two M4350 series switches are debuting. The M4350-16M4V features 16X 2.5G PoE ports with Neutrik etherCON, opticalCON QUAD, and powerCON TRUE1 connectors, plus 4X 25G SFP28 uplinks via a modular card slot. The M4350-16C provides 16 ports of 100G connectivity for aggregation and core layers handling multiple high-resolution video streams. Both models support SMPTE ST 2110 timing with grandmaster and boundary-clock functionality, with TAA-compliant SKUs available.

Engage Controller v2.4 adds offsite network configuration without connected hardware, allowing integrators to design, configure, and save virtual-switch deployments as reusable templates before arriving onsite.

More than 110 partner manufacturers are showcasing broadcast solutions at the Netgear booth.

Net Insight (Booth W1653)

Net Insight is presenting a broader and more ambitious technology story than ever, centered on one key idea: making live-media operations more predictable, visible, and controllable as workflows grow across networks, clouds, and organizations. At the center is Nimbra Live Intelligence, a new category for live-media operations and the foundation of Net Insight's Open Media Platform for Live. Built as one platform with three layers, it is designed to help broadcasters, service providers, and content owners operate live media as a predictable system rather than a collection of isolated products.

A major highlight at the show is the launch of Nimbra 520, a high-density media-processing node built for live contribution and distribution across both managed and unmanaged networks. As more feeds, venues, and cloud connections put pressure on cost and performance, Nimbra 520 is designed to simplify execution while lowering cost per stream. With multichannel HEVC and AVC support, up to 50% bandwidth savings compared with legacy workflows, and integration with Nimbra Edge for orchestration and lifecycle management, it brings deterministic performance into hybrid live environments where simplicity, cost control, and confidence matter most.

Net Insight is also showcasing its latest JPEG XS at scale innovation for live IP-media production. Designed for high-capacity UHD and Full HD workflows, the solution combines standards-based interoperability, ultra-low latency and very high density in a full IP ST 2110 architecture. It can support up to 192 Full HD or 90 UHD JPEG XS streams per device, helping media companies scale production while reducing operational overhead. Integrated media processing, switching, and security demarcation in a single platform also simplifies architecture and reduces the need for additional devices between network domains.

Together, these launches illustrate how Net Insight is moving beyond individual point solutions to a more complete platform approach for live production, contribution, distribution, and protection. The message for NAB 2026 is clear: in today's live-media world, success is no longer only about transport capacity or codec efficiency. It is about operating complex live workflows with confidence, especially under pressure. Nova Lume (Booth C7511)

Nova Lume is showcasing Green-GO's 5G/4G LTE communication solution for private networks, integrating cellular connectivity directly into the Green-GO intercom ecosystem.

The system uses 5G's low latency and bandwidth to deliver uncompressed audio without relying on DECT, RF, or local Wi-Fi infrastructure. It maintains Green-GO's decentralized architecture, with each beltpack operating as an independent node, eliminating single points of failure.
