Nous avons tout fait pour viter d'en arriver l , malheureusement le gouvernement fran ais en a d cid autrement.
Peut- tre n'avez-vous jamais entendu parler du CNM ou Centre National de la Musique. Il s'agit d'un organisme public qui commande des tudes sur l'industrie musicale fran aise, et fournit des subventions financi res aux maisons de disques et l'industrie du spectacle vivant. Fin 2023, dans le cadre de son budget 2024, le gouvernement fran ais a d cid que les services de streaming de musique devront d sormais s'acquitter d'une nouvelle taxe pour financer ce centre. Notre inqui tude, en plus de ce qui quivaudrait un double paiement de notre part, a t que cette taxe n'aille pas directement aux artistes, ni n'ait un rendement tangible visible pour les fans ; au lieu de cela, elle se fera simplement aux d pens des auditeurs, et cr era un interm diaire suppl mentaire-le CNM.
Cette taxe rapportera environ 15 millions d'euros, alors que le budget administratif du CNM (frais de bureau, personnel, frais techniques, veille m diatique ou formation professionnelle, etc.) s' l ve 20,2 millions d'euros. Nous craignons que moins de la moiti de son budget global de 146,9 millions d'euros ne soit consacr e l'aide la musique.
Spotify a fi rement d fendu les artistes fran ais au cours des 15 derni res ann es ; nous n'avons certainement pas attendu la cr ation du CNM en 2020 pour aider les artistes trouver le succ s en France et l' tranger ; pour aider promouvoir le r pertoire fran ais et augmenter les revenus engendr s pour les ayants droit fran ais. Les revenus g n r s par Spotify pour le secteur de la musique enregistr e en France pour la seule ann e 2022 s' l vent pr s de 225 millions d'euros (soit environ 1/4 du chiffre d'affaires de l'industrie fran aise de la musique enregistr e pour cette ann e). Cela repr sente une augmentation de plus de 200 % depuis 2017.
Or, avec la cr ation de cette nouvelle taxe, Spotify devrait reverser environ deux tiers de chaque euro aux ayants droit et au gouvernement fran ais. Bien entendu, il s'agit l d'un montant cons quent qui ne permet pas d'assurer la p rennit de l'entreprise. Nous avons toujours t tr s clairs en la mati re-nous ne pouvons tout simplement pas absorber des taxes suppl mentaires. M me apr s avoir pris la d cision difficile de r duire notre budget marketing pour les artistes et notre soutien aux festivals de musique fran ais-qui est un moyen essentiel pour Spotify de continuer g n rer des centaines de millions d'euros pour l'industrie musicale-cela continue d'entraver notre capacit op rer en France. En cons quence, au cours des semaines et des mois venir, nous devrons apporter des changements notre plan tarifaire en France.
En clair, tous nos utilisateurs premium fran ais verront leur abonnement augmenter, et paieront d sormais le forfait le plus lev au sein de l'Union europ enne. Spotify augmente ses prix en France afin de compenser ces nouveaux co ts. Nous reviendrons vers nos abonn s fran ais dans les semaines venir pour leur donner tous les d tails de cette augmentation.
