RT fm Launches Nationwide Toy Appeal

RT 2fm Launches Nationwide Toy Appeal RT 2fm is set to join forces once again with leading charity St Vincent de Paul for the nations biggest ever charity toy appeal.

This year it's the 2fm Toy Appeal Operation Santa , led by 2fm presenters, including Ryan Tubridy, Hector hEochagain, Colm Hayes, Larry Gogan and Rick O'Shea. The 2fm Toy Appeal's wish is that every family has what they need this Christmas.

On Wednesday 27th November, 2fm will broadcast live from the Brown Thomas window on Grafton Street in Dublin and the biggest names in Irish showbiz will be popping by to contribute to the appeal. 2fm will also be giving away two Late Late Toy Show tickets, which takes place on Friday 29th November.

Listeners can enter by logging onto www.rte.ie/2fm or www.svp.ie/giftstore and buying a toy in the virtual toy store. Hector, Ryan, Colm, Larry and Rick will host their 2fm shows live in the window from 7am 4.30pm. Listeners can also follow the action on-air, via #2fmopsanta on @rte2fm on Twitter, or stay up-to-date with 2fmOfficial on Facebook.

The RT 2fm Toy Appeal for St. Vincent de Paul is now in its fourth year and was born out of the hugely successful Toys for Tubs initiative in 2010. Over the past three years, the 2fm Toy Appeal saw some 150,000 toys donated and distributed to families in need. In 2012, 65,000 toys were donated to the value of one million euro.

Once again listeners will be able to donate toys at SuperValu and Superquinn stores nationwide from Monday 25th November 2013. Meanwhile, listeners will also be able to donate online at www.rte.ie/2fm or www.svp.ie/giftstore.
